When patients are intubated for long periods, VAP (Ventilator Acquired Pneumonia) is always a concern. It happens when normal secretions collect in the subglottic space above the cuff of an ET tube and are micro-aspirated into lungs. Evacuation of these secretions is a proven strategy to reduce risk.

The NeVAP Aspire Subglottic Suction Drainage ETT (ASETT) has a patented subglottic multiport vacuum system that permits the suctioning of mucosal secretions to prevent build up and VAP. Similar alternatives have holes that often becomes occluded and ineffective, especially when patient is moved. This innovative device helps reduce the risk of post-operative and ventilator-associated compilations.
